Are you are looking at boosting your quota of mindful minutes a day? Are you interested in being healthier and happier? You will learn about the basic tenets of mindfulness and experience how you can simply and easily integrate mindful food preparation and eating into your daily life.
1 x 3-hour Plant Based Food 101 Demonstration & delicious Family Style Leisurely Lunch
Led by the phenomenal plant based food guru Katie Mac. All recipes covered will be 100% plant-based, gluten free and refined sugar free. You do not need to be vegan to enjoy this workshop. You simply need a passion and zest for good wholesome food that has the potential to enhance your wellbeing and happiness.
Plant Based Cooking 101 will cover:
• Kitchen equipment for success in a plant-based kitchen
• What it’s like to follow a plant-based diet
• Making your own milks from nuts, seeds & grains
• Quick & easy raw chocolate + the benefits of cacao
• Raw vegan cheesecake
• Cheese alternatives – cashew cream cheese
• Nourishing salad ideas & easy salad dressings
• a chance to finally master the art of rice paper wraps
You will receive a copy of all recipes created within the workshop & have a go at making your own rice paper wraps. You will receive take home information about mindful eating and the myriad of potential health benefits along with key points on how to incorporate this into your daily life.
We will enjoy & savour all recipes together at the end over a leisurely family style lunch.

About your hosts
Kate & Cam
The news Cape South Managers Kate and Cam McLeay have a passion for wellness and adventure. They built, owned and ran tourism ventures in Uganda, East Africa for a decade before returning to NZ 8 years ago to educate their three children. Cam, a former banker and still a chartered accountant, established the rafting company Adrift in 6 countries and pioneered rafting on the Nile river in Uganda. Along with a group of intrepid explorers he co led the world longest river journey from Egypt to a new longest source of the Nile river in Rwanda 6,718 kms. He now enjoys sharing tales of his exploits and guiding adventures closer to home. Kate, a former International School Principal, now dedicates her time to organising and hosting Wellness Retreats and curating and delivering Mindfulness & Meditation Training to discerning workplaces, her favoutie Marae and schools and in the local prison. With over a thousand hours of well-being training and degree in Education her mother would be happy she’s doing something useful.

We are so excited that the divine and deliciously talented culinary goddess Kaitie MacDiarmid is coming back for a visit. Katie a passionate, hugely talented #plantbasedchef from Mt Manganui. With a lust for travel she’s home based right now and we are thrilled to be hosting this true food rock star before the gates out of NZ open wide and she flies off again.
After leaving school Katie set out on a huge adventure to explore the world working in schools, retreats, hostels, and cafes. Her experiences in a diverse range of kitchens creating and exploring led her to totally fall in love with the whole concept of food.
Katie has now worked around the world as a chef in cafes and restaurants as well as at festivals and on retreats. In addition she has been operated a plant-based/raw food business in New Zealand.
Katie has trained in #RawFood Culinary at The Seeds of Life café in Bali and Plant-Based Cooking With Matthew Kenney in LA.
Katie is currently completing her studies in #nutritionaltherapy with the Nutritional Therapy Association. Watch this space. This gorgeous legend is excited to combine her knowledge of plant-based culinary with nutrition in her own inspired way.
Katie’s food is a true artist in plant based food. She truly believes that food is our medicine and is diligent in her pursuit of providing this to those lucky enough to enjoy her talents. From sourcing the finest local organic ingredients to a systematic, peace and love filled approach to cooking. She serves food that is full of flavour, textures and packed with goodness into a visual feast for the eyes and a precious gift to the body.
Honestly she’s next level.
And I’m not just saying that because I adore eating her food!
