Are you ready to restore & revive?   This Luxury Wellness Retreat is especially curated for you to step out of the business of your life to experience the restorative power of rest, presence and self care to rejuvenate and restore.  This is a time for you to slow down, prioritise you, nourish your body, mind and soul and savour a time to remember and practice the art of stillness. 


We all know what happens if you don’t slow down when we are driving into a corner.  The same is true for life.  We practice the art of slowing down and the tools that helps us when life turns its corners.  We come to each “weave a parachute” rather than rather than leaving it to the time you are jumping out of the plane.


Using a range of ancient healing salves especially designed to help you create space to come back to centre, de stress, sink into self care and restore energy. 

On your retreat you will have on offer nourishing daily mindfulness, yoga, mantra, qi gong, silence & nature. You will explore and practice multiple meditation techniques. You will experience the benefits of the deep rejuvenating practice, Yoga Nidra alongside Tibetan Bowl Sound Healing.  You wil be given a firm foundation into the theories, benefits of multiple practices that activate the parasympathetic nervous system – your place of “rest & digest”.



Friday 20th November  (programme begins from 2pm but guests welcome to arrive from 10am) to Sunday 22ndNovember (programme ends by 2pm but guests welcome to stay and depart by 6pm)

Add on option to arrive Thursday 3pm and depart Monday 11am.


The Restore & Revive Wellness Content Includes -

  • A deep dive into restorative yoga. A completely relaxing form of supported yin yoga poses.  To release tension, relieve stress and bring ease and flow to the body and mind. 
  • A chance to learn about the theory and experience the practice of an 8 stages of Yoga Nidra. This traditional guided relaxation has been scientifically proven to improve emotional self regulation – with reduced levels of depression, stress and anxiety and an increase in mood, quality of life and wellbeing.
  • An introduction to mindfulness and a simple take home guide and experience of self led meditation
  • An exploration of the use of progressive muscle relaxation to address the tensions in the body, mind and emotions to induce a deep state of relaxation.
  • Experience a range of Basic Breathing Method practices and earn how they link to relaxation theory plus a breathing meditation from “The Heart of the Buddha’s Teaching” by Thich Nhat Hanh.
  • A guided walk on private farmland.
  • An experience with Essential oils and opportunity to make your own bath salts blend.
  • A workshop to explore your dormant potential as you are guided through the Satyananda “Swan Theory” that takes you on a journey of self exploration allowing you to examine your own nature, accept yourself for the person you are and to map a path to transformation.


You’ll walk away with a new sense of inner peace and greater sense of meaning, purpose and wellbeing. You’ll take powerful tools and insights back into daily life so that you can live your life with a sense of ease, passion and peace.

A menu of massage, and treatments are available to pre book with superb therapists and practitioners. Airport transfers are just $60 each way or let us arrange car hire or driver for you. If you are adding on extra nights then additional activities of guided hikes, trout fishing, beach trips, surfing or surf lessons, horse riding, mountain biking, biking the trails and wine tours can all be arranged as add on to your stay.



About the Food & Fare

Our food is full of nutrients, seasonal, fresh and prepared with great love and care. Our food is wheat free, dairy free and refined sugar free.  Usually predominantly plant based. Local produce, organic and home grown from our vegetable and apothecary gardens where possible.  We serve a range of nourishing alcohol free medicinal drinks to heighten health and aid digestion - smoothies, juices, fire cider and kombucha home brews, Chinese and local tonic herbs.



A nourishing blend of relaxation, movement, meditation, delicious organic seasonal food, learning & most of all time to put yourself first. Hosted at the luxurious Cape South Country Retreat and Wellness Centre facilitated by Kate McLeay (Mumma Soulfood) and a team of her favourite local legends.  


An opportunity to step out of life’s routines and dedicate real time to putting yourself first. Over the retreat we will share wisdom on holistic wellness and how to positively enhance this for more clarity, ease and enjoyment of life. With decades of experience in education, hospitality and adventures we’ve seen the profound changes these experiences can bring and what happens when people take time for themselves.

We highly recommend you add on an Extra Night Thursday and/or Sunday night to your retreat.  One additional night is $230 (twin share) or $360 (own room) and includes a complimentary 1 hour swedish or hot stone massage for the additional night of your stay, full board service, full use of the retreat facilities and full facilitator support.  Two additional nights is $440 (twin share) or $690 (own room) and includes a 2 x 1 hour complimentary spa treatments of your choice, full board service, full use of the retreat facilities and full facilitator support.

About the Venue

 Cape South is a stunning, totally unique luxury retreat located only 8 minutes from Waimarama Beach, 20 minutes from Havelock North or just 40 minutes from Napier Airport.  The gracious 8 ensuite bedroom French Colonial style homestead & cottage is situated on 16 acres of grounds and gardens with expansive views of the coastal hinterland.   Retreat facilities include a mineral pool, gym, spa, infrared sauna, yoga studio, apothecary, medicinal herb and permaculture vegetable gardens.  The venue offers the ultimate luxury escape for a true exploration of wellness.


About the Team


Kate McLeay 

Kate has been a teacher in many forms her whole adult life. Starting as an early childhood then primary school teacher and went on the become an International School Principal, advisor, board member and teacher trainer. She gave up her day job for her passion In wellness after years of study in yoga, meditation, mindfulness and holistic healing through massage and energy medicine. She has now led classes, retreats and workshops in wellness for well over a decade. She loves to share her work to a diverse range of audiences - workplaces, hospitals, schools and prisons.. to you.  She loves how the magic of simple wisdom equally reaches all who choose to walk this path.

Cam McLeay

Cam is a character of note who loves people and sharing stories of his adventures and passion for wellness and nature.  Cam is a qualified chartered accountant who has spent more time on rivers and in wild places than at a desk.  He is a world renowned rafting guide and adventurer having navigated the Nile river from Sea to Source, establishing a new "longest source" of the Nile in Rwanda.  Featured on the whole fourth episode of Joanna Lumley's Nile as well as over a dozen documentaries he also signed the programme and supported many film gigs including Top Gears East Africa adventure.  Cam loves the outdoors but is a long time dedicated yoga and meditation practitioner.  With over 2 decades of regular daily practice he loves how these simple powerful tools keep him on his bike, surfboard and on mountains and rivers.

Katie Mac

 Katie is a passionate plant based chef from Mount Manganui, New Zealand. After leaving school she set out on a huge adventure to explore the world working in schools, retreats, hostels, and cafes. Her experiences in a diverse range of kitchens creating and exploring led her to totally fall in love with the whole concept of food. Katie has now worked around the world as a chef in cafes and restaurants as well as at festivals and on retreats. In addition she has been operating a plant-based/raw food business in New Zealand. Katie has trained in Raw Food Culinary at The Seeds of Life café in Bali and Plant-Based Cooking With Matthew Kenney in LA.  Katie is currently studying Nutritional Therapy with the Nutritional Therapy Association and is excited to combine her knowledge of plant-based culinary with nutrition.

The Dream Team

Over the retreat you will also be looked after by additional members of our dream team.  These can change depending on group size and our crews availability.  Often in the house we have the most fabulous Carolien Flint who looks after table decorations and flowers and brings an eye for detail.  She is also a hugely talented Reiki practitioner.  We also often have the stunning Tamoko Christie with us as our “everything treasure” .. as there is nothing she can’t do!  In addition to this we have a spa treatment team in board who are experts in their craft.
